Moving to California

So you're thinking of moving to California? Who can blame you; California has great diversity in culture, geography and climate. With the entire western border of California being a tropical coastline, and the Sierra Nevada Mountains rising in the east, creating a lush farmland valley down the center, you can start to see for yourself how the geography and climate varies.

California is the 3rd largest of the 50 states, just behind Alaska and Texas, extending 770 miles from north to south, and 250 miles east to west at its most distant points. The entire western border follows the coast of the Pacific Ocean, creating a cool and mild climate. Running north to south towards the eastern side of California resides the Sierra Nevada mountain range, extending 430 miles and rising to an astounding 14,000 feet at some of its highest points. As the winter seasons draws into California, these mountain ranges create a breathtaking view as the season blankets them in snow, which also makes them popular for a number of ski resorts. Between the Pacific Coast and the Sierra Nevada Mountains resides some of the most fertile farmland in the United States. Temperatures in the lush valley can vary greatly, but if you like the heat, you can count on it reaching up to 100 degrees at least a few times during the summer season. If you prefer more of a mild climate, I would greatly recommend a coastal area, as the breeze that comes across the Pacific keeps the climate at a less extreme temperature. So no matter your preference in climate, I can guarantee you can find a place to call home somewhere in California, making that long distance move to this amazing state well worth any trouble you come across in your California move.

Not only does California contain majestic scenery, it also has some of the most popular hotspots in the nation. One of these includes the famous Hollywood, where "everyone is a star". If you're a big movie buff, this is definitely the place to move. Sightings of movie stars is common is this area, as I'm sure you already guessed; I mean, it is where they make a lot of their movies! Hollywood isn't the only popular area in California though. It is also the location of the "happiest place in the world", Disneyland! Wouldn't it be tempting to make that move to California just to be in driving distance of this incredible attraction? Or maybe you would like to live close to one of the most prominent National Parks in the US; Yosemite National Park? Whether you decide to make the move the climate, geography, or attractions, I can guarantee you can find a home in California.
